This trouble-free Ornamental Millet boasts a stunning deep purple color from its stem base to its long, flower-filled stalk. Simply place it in full sun and enjoy gorgeous violet hues for three seasons annually. Standing 4 to 5 feet tall with flowerstalks reaching 12 to 14 inches long throughout summer, Purple Majesty is easy to sow directly or start indoors (remaining green until exposed to full sun). Thriving in high heat and direct sun, it's perfect for driveways, borders, fences, or near warm walls on the patio. Resistant to pests and disease, it quickly grows multiple stems and shoots with blooms in summer. Plant 10 to 12 inches apart for a vibrant, even display.
In containers or gardens, Purple Majesty pairs beautifully with trailing Petunias or makes yellow and green Zinnias pop in borders. It complements silver-foliaged plants and enhances white and pink Poppies. Our trial gardens buzzed with excitement over Purple Majesty last summer!
For best results, start Purple Majesty outdoors in temperatures above 60 degrees or indoors in warmed trays. Cold weather halts growth, so time your planting accordingly. Germination takes just 3 days and growth is rapid under optimal conditions. If started indoors, plants turn violet within days of outdoor placement. Each pack contains 15 seeds.
